Recontextualised for the gallery setting, this piece aims to construct an environment that further explores our emotional relationship with space, time and the body.
Disintegration, decomposition and aging are forces of nature that happens outside and inside all of us in a constant cycle. The pine tree allows each pine needle to fall and slowly turn to brown, incorporated into soil organic carbon, giving life back to the tree.
Disintegration explores a reflection of this process in the slow decay of the emotional state of loneliness embodied through movement. The viewers and artists are separated through a glass barrier creating a sense of our separate worlds.
Disitegration is an Umwelt Collective work. Umwelt collective is an experimental performance art collective creating work that sits at the cross section of installation, dance, physical theatre and digital art.
